Furthermore, we believe effective learning flows from the partnership of teachers and parents and we are proud to have expert teachers dedicated to working together with parents and grandparents to provide the very best learning outcomes for our wee musicians.
Louise is the owner and director of Wee Make Music with her background in education and 25 years teaching early childhood through to adolescents. She continues to build a strong passion for the value of music in a whole of life capacity. Louise been teaching and developing the Wee Make Music program for over 15 years.
Karin has a professional background as a Psychologist and an extensive knowledge and experience in violin. She has a great passion for music and a respect for the joy and benefit it can contribute to human development. She loves working with children and has been with Wee Make Music for seven years now.
Miss ColleenColleen began music teaching 20-years ago, teaching flute after completing Grade 8 in classical flute (Trinity). Colleen is very passionate about the arts and literacy, as demonstrated by her varied career as a bookseller and a consultant to the museum and gallery sector. She has been a mum with the Wee Make Music program and has experienced first-hand how beneficial the program is in fostering a love of music whilst promoting learning and skills across all areas of early childhood development. This has inspired her to further her studies in the area of Education Support.
Miss IrenaSince graduating the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in 2016, Irena Lysiuk has worked extensively with company Opera Queensland. She is passionate about education and performing, whether it’s playing Friday night bar gigs behind her acoustic guitar or in a main stage opera production at QPAC.
From a very young age Stephanie has been surrounded by music, has accomplished her AmusA in violin and is preparing for same in piano. She has private instrumental students and is now enjoying the challenge and fulfilment of early childhood teaching whilst also working at Simply for Strings.
Miss MichelleMiss Michelle began teaching with Wee Make Music in 2006 and has a background in piano, singing, dance, sign language, and primary education. Together with her passion for teaching and communication, Miss Michelle delights in sharing her joy of musical expression with young minds and families who pass through our program. She believes her patience, gentleness and enthusiasm are key to helping our Wee Musicians to engage with music and harness their creativity through music.
“I believe that a love of music is one of the greatest gifts you can give your child and one that will last them a lifetime. One of the things I love the most about teaching with Wee Make Music is seeing all the smiles and faces of both children and adults alike, expressing their enjoyment and delight, as well as sharing those proud moments as parents witness their child’s own personal accomplishments.”
